THE DURON FAMILY BAND
Tami Duron Hjelm
Vocals
Biography
Tami started singing commercial jingles in her crib before she could actually talk, so says her mother, Mary! That being said, Tami started singing in the Duron Family Band at the young age of 13. Before her first performance at the Irons Flea Roast Ox Market, she was so nervous, but when she was done, she couldn't wait to do it again! Tami decided to go to college to become a music teacher while singing in various bands throughout the Grand Rapids Area. She especially loved singing with the band, Azz-Izz. After a few years at GRCC, she finished her degree at Western Michigan University and sang with Gold Company which was a real highlight! She became a Vocal Music Educator and has been teaching at Northview Public Schools since 1993. Tami currently sings professionally with various groups but truly loves sharing her talent at Our Lady of Consolation church in Rockford!
